Innovation in Organization

Liberty Packaging enjoys long-term affiliations with some first class innovative organizations. We've been involved with NDIA New England, IEEE, and ThomasNet (formerly Thomas Register) for many years, and more recently have joined forces with both SME and Women in Packaging.

NDIA (National Defense Industrial Association) New England boasts 1200 members, made up of representatives from government, large and small corporations, and professional service providers located in New England. NDIA enables connections and education for those providing materials and services within the defense industry through sponsored special events throughout the region - the national NDIA does the same on a national level.

The world's largest technical association, IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is an international non-profit group comprised of many smaller groups based on geography or field of technological interest. Students are encouraged to join and the educational and career services opportunities are vast. Any student or professional interested in electronics should consider joining this group. We've met some terrific people over the years through NDIA, IEEE, and the smaller IEEE Reliability Group, helping us find many who share corrosion and ESD packaging knowledge and challenges with us.

ThomasNet is a comprehensive online resource for locating manufacturers and suppliers of parts, materials, finished goods, and services. Years before the internet, what was then known as the manufacturers bible, the Thomas Register was a collection of large heavy books. Now all that info can easily be searched online at ThomasNet.com - quite a resource.

SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers) is an international professional association that concentrates on propelling manufacturing toward new technologies and efficiencies through the education of students and professionals. Publications, trade shows and other events are their strengths.

Women in Packaging was begun by JoAnn Hines (@packagingdiva) to help women in the packaging business connect with each other and with those who may need their packaging materials, designs, services, and expertise. Due to her many years of packaging industry experience, she is known as the go-to person for finding the right sources to package your product. Hines recently connected with MFG.com to help them launch the packaging section of their manufacturing website.

We know the wealth of knowledge and connections that flourish within these groups helps us provide better service to our customers. Which professional groups do you value?

Intercept Technology Packaging products fit within a sustainability strategy because they are reusable, recyclable, do not contain or use volatile components (No VOCs, Not a VCI) and leave a smaller carbon footprint than most traditional protective packaging products.
