But as the unpleasantness is beginning to end for bears and humans (knowing what I know about actual hibernation, bears are probably significantly more relieved), corrosion is just warming up. As the weather warms up, corrosion-causing molecules, just like all other molecules, move more quickly. In this state, they become more likely to find a free reactive site (a metallic grain boundary for instance), hence the rate of corrosion goes up.
To many in the corrosion protection business this is a scary thought. However, we at Liberty Packaging already have an omnipresent adversary that is quite formidable to these fast moving atmospheric corrosive gases. Basically, the Intercept Technology packaging we supply simply works harder for you. When gasses are moving faster they make more contact with Intercept’s high surface area copper particles, which causes quicker reactions and hence removes them faster from the airspace (because Intercept acts as a sacrificial and preferential corrosion site). When the gasses make contact with Intercept and are permanently reacted, the inside of the package becomes a clean micro environment safe to ship a wide range of products within.
So as the weather heats up many people will be thinking about the beach; we will be thinking about corrosion protection and how we can better serve our customers during a time of heightened susceptibility to corrosion.

Intercept Technology Packaging products fit within a sustainability strategy because they are reusable, recyclable, do not contain or use volatile components (No VOCs, Not a VCI) and leave a smaller carbon footprint than most traditional protective packaging products.
